A Grain of Courage
Everyone has their unfulfilled dreams,
and everyone has, at some point, suffered for someone,
fought their feelings with the truth,
once stopped by the club of the abandoned.
I remember how madly in love I was,
wrote poems about her and dreamed of her at night,
but as she said, I was not made for her,
she wanted to give someone else a chance.
I lied to myself that she would be mine after all,
tried to hide the truth from the heart,
poured my feelings into poems,
blending more and more with my shadow.
But in the end, a grain of courage was found
to look the truth in the eye,
then song and wine were the only friends,
that ease the days in solitude.
