She Would Be Called Lilith

She would definitely be the queen of my heart,
and she would claim that throne from her mother,
to whom my heart was already a subject,
with whom I planned to make fairy tales come true.

She would be a little angel, yet an even greater little devil,
with an innocent smile she would conquer everyone,
on the wings of her parents’ love,
she would fight for her dreams to the very end.

With her mother, she would play the violin or the piano,
learning Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Liszt;
and with her father, she would compose love poetry,
writing about love as pure as a tear.

She’d have her mother’s stick-out ears, it’s true,
but from both of us she would inherit captivating eyes,
she would leave no one indifferent,
everyone’s heart could leap because of her.

She would be called Lilith and be our joy,
but on her unknown path toward life,
she never crossed its threshold,
instead of a beginning, there was the end for her.

For this world was not ready for her,
with the elimination of conception, they killed hope,
I will keep the dream of her forever in my heart,
as the Hesperides do the golden apples in Hades.
